What is Wing Tsun?
|
Wing Tsun, also known as Wing Chun or Ving Tsun, is a martial
art system developed in southern China around 200-400 years ago and legend has
it that this martial art system was created by a woman.
It is designed to be effective against stronger opponents and to be learnt in a relatively short period of time. Unlike many of the
“harder” martial arts, Wing Tsun does not rely on strength to overcome a
stronger opponent. Instead, it relies on
speed, agility, form and sensitivity of technique.
Over the years, Wing Tsun has proven
itself to be an effective and practical
martial art, especially in close-quarter
fighting. As such, Wing Tsun is especially suited for women and for men of
small build.
The Singapore Wing Tsun Training Centre holds regular trainings. Please click on the specific class on the Calendar of Events to get updates on where it is held.
