What is Wing Tsun?

Wing Tsun, also known as Wing Chun, Ving Tsun or Yong Chun, is a martial art system developed in southern China around 200-400 years ago. Legend has it that this martial art was created by a woman.

It is designed to be effective against stronger opponents and to be learnt in a relatively short period of time. Unlike many of the "harder" martial arts, Wing Tsun does not rely on strength to overcome a stronger opponent. Instead it relies on form and sensitivity of technique, efficiency and agility.

Over the years, Wing Tsun has proven itself to be an effective and practical martial art, especially in close quarter fighting. As such, Wing Tsun is especially suited for women and for men of small build.
